The New Caledonia Maritime Museum, created by the New Caledonian Salomon and Fortunes de Mer Associations, celebrated its 10th birthday in September 2009. New Caledonia’s geographic location and history has placed it firmly in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the Pacific, Europe and, indeed, the world.

The museum of maritime history divided the exhibition into 4 parts:

The sails of trade : the history of the ore carrieres and the tall ships.

La perouse expedition : the preparation for the voyage and the searches led over 200 years.

New Caledonian shipping : The sea links of the caledonian center coastal.

Maritime migrations : the history of the waves of settement in New Caledonia.

Areas games : the initiation of the history for youngs.
